The 36th Taiwan Veterinary Day was held on January 6, 2008 by Johnson Chiang, President of Taiwan Veterinary Medical Association. There was a big celebration and Animal Health Protection Forum on the day. |

Around 900 vets and dependents from over the island participated and enjoy the Taiwan Veterinary day. Dr. Watson Sung, General Director of The Bureau of Animal Health Inspection and Quarantine on behalf of Government Agriculture Authority appreciated our veterinarians dedication and contribution on effort to control Foot and Mouth Disease and Mad Cow Disease as well as Bird flu, as you know that occurrence around our neighbor countries. He wished we should hand on hand to keep on fighting against those diseases.
On the day, we invited two speakers: National Taiwan University Professor and Chairman Chen-Hsuan Liu, Department of Veterinary Medicine, and Behavior Training Ms Wendy Ma, Certified Pet Dog Trainer to give a lecture on How to create the relationships among Owner, trainer, and Dog. This is a lesson for us on animal protection.
And presented Banners for the 30 and 50 years for who are practicing on veterinary services, presented the four Achievers on fulfill of officer on Diseases control, education, clinical research and promoter winners.
The Bureau of Animal Health Inspection and Quarantine presented award winners on the 2006 year of city and county animal diseases control center on Hog Cholera and Foot mouth Disease eradication program. The winners of environment sanitary on animal stocking station and slaughter house vehicles and transportation equipments. |

Finally, The Tainan County Veterinary Medical Association will be the hosted of 37th Taiwan Veterinary Day 2009. The participants enjoyed the Yilan traditional roast duck with red rice wine (gan bai), and traditional songs and dances. For each Veterinarians will enrich our role to human being for food safety from farm to table.
